HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR 5 POINT PLATFORM CONTENT

We developed the five point platform looking at the way thought leaders communicate, and we're employing it because the rhetoric, the philosophy that you have, is immutable. It gets so much elevation on positioning you as a Thought Leader that it's going to be always true, durable, interesting, and it positions you as an authority.

If you imagine the positioning of any speaker, what they typically want to do is take you down into what's wrong, bring you back up to a vision, and then give you the activities to go forth and conquer. So we broke down your five point platform structurally so that we could parse it out with the interviews you do with us. But, if you put it all together, it's a fantastic asset that could be used in these ways:

  • It would make a phenomenal TED Talk,

  • It would make an incredible keynote

  • It would also make a great article

  • It would make a great interview if you were to be talked to in a social media or a PR environment, maybe you get interviewed for a radio show or somebody else's podcast.

Using the five point platform you could say, “you know, what's really going on was this and we thought it was wrong. We wanted to do something about it, we thought, it could be like this. And it could be like that. So we recommend to everybody, they do these things.” Your 5 point platform should be always right there at your fingertips, ready to access and utilize, because it's true, because it's your philosophy.

Nothing beats your philosophy. No matter what, if I burned your business down tomorrow and said, “You've got to start over in a shoe factory,” you'd bring that same passion and vision to bear. That's why you're crushing it. So I want you to revisit that thing. It's not just a trick to make social media content. It's your wisdom. It's all of your accumulated passion and insight centralized into this one little talk, I want you to get the most out of it. Please use your five point platform more than just for this marketing service with us.

BONUS INSIGHT FROM JON

They usually have very strong opinions about box number one, what's wrong. Box number two, what could be. And box number three, how to do it. You take a 30 year veteran who's been doing something for a lot of time, fighting against the tyranny of their industry, they have some really strong opinions. They are almost always fighting against the tyranny of their industry. They are the sheep dogs, watching out for the flock. And they're mad as hell that wolves keep getting into the pack and picking off people and seducing them with the wrong ideas, taking advantage of the sheep, getting their money, giving them bad advice, and manipulating them.

They're usually kind of easy to trigger. I throw them a marker and I go, "What's wrong in the industry?" And it's like, "Oh, shit, there goes a half an hour." And they're getting upset almost because they feel so mad they have such a small platform, but they see the problem so clearly. They want to be protectors. They want to shine the light and dispel myths. They reveal truth and they do it pretty routinely. It's their whole business is to say, "Let me just show you what's really going on here."
